Fingershield MD to Join Advisory Board for the National Council for Work Experience
As of April 2007, Fingershield MD, Paul O’Carroll, is to join a new Advisory Board set up by the National Council for Work Experience (NCWE) to consider applications for a new quality accreditation for work experience provision.
The NCWE has recently developed a quality accreditation called the Work Experience Quality Mark that will serve as recognition for organisations offering work experience opportunities that meet a national standard. To help manage and evaluate applications for this accreditation, the NCWE has appointed an Advisory Board and asked Paul O’Carroll to be a member.
The Work Experience Quality Mark has been established in response to the fact that more and more importance is being placed on the employability of students upon graduation. With companies achieving such an accreditation, more opportunities will be on offer to young people, which will in turn make them more employable in the eyes of employers.
In February 2006, Fingershield Safety UK was recognised for the efforts it has made to providing enriching work placement opportunities when it was short-listed for the finals of the National Council for Work Experience Awards 2005/06.
