Fingershield Walk the Bay for Christie's

On 3 September 2006, the Fingershield team joined some six hundred people on a Sponsored Walk across the Morecambe Bay Sands to raise money for charity. Whilst other parties had gathered to show their support for a diverse mix of great causes, the Fingershield team were walking in support of the Christie Hospital NHS Trust, the company charity.

The Morecambe Bay Walk proved to be an exciting addition to Fingershield’s rich programme of fundraising activities, but was also a very powerful means for the company to show its dedication and support for this invaluable cause.

In the run up to the event, the Fingershield team worked hard to raise as much sponsorship money as possible for the walk and would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to everybody who contributed, including our generous Door Safety Surveyors and also many of our suppliers. In fact, the generosity of those who donated money was to keep the team going on the day…

Crossing the watersWith torrential rain forecast and quick sand to contend with, the team had prepared themselves for quite a tough trek across the Morecambe Bay Sands and armed themselves with heavy-duty waterproofs and an all-important change of clothing!

Fortunately, however, despite the unnerving downpours experienced on the journey up to Morecambe, it turned out to be a glorious day, with in excess of £700 raised for the Christie Hospital NHS Trust.

In good spirits for a great causeThe Fingershield team look forward to taking part in the Morecambe Bay Sponsored Walk again next year and would gladly welcome anybody who wishes to either support or, indeed, join them in such a worthwhile event.
