Reported by the
Daily Mail on the 12th of February, little Katie Tevez was rushed to hospital, where Tevez had to wait anxiously while surgeons in Manchester reconnected the tips of his daughter's severed fingers and tried to repair her badly damaged tendons.
Happily we are glad to hear the procedure is thought to have been very successful, and that little Katie is now home and well with Carlos and her family.
Managing Director of Fingershield and avid Manchester City supporter Paul O’Carroll also commented as follows::
“In the last 12 years Fingershield Safety (UK) have protected the fingers of millions of children throughout the world with their handle and hinge side finger guards and it’s always distressing to learn about accidents involving extremely young children as is the case in this instance. Finger trapping accidents have in the past been treated in quite a frivolous manner by some and it’s only when reading about an accident like the one that Katie experienced that the true pain and suffering for all involved becomes a reality. Our thoughts are with Katie and the rest of the Tevez family, we sincerely hope that she makes a quick and full recovery from the accident.”
