Child Door Safety at Hand with Fingershield

First for Finger Protection

Fingershield provide child door safety finger guards that can prevent one of the most distressing types of accidents – finger trapping.

Finger-trapping accidents are not only painful and distressing for the victim but also those who witness the accident and have to provide after-care. Unfortunately, to make matters worse, with an escalating compensation culture, there have been many reported incidents of personal injury claims being lodged.

However, finger-trapping accidents are preventable. Installing finger protection can prevent accidents and Fingershield Child Door Safety Finger Guards have an automatic and free 10 years warranty. The device has a life expectancy of 20 years based on independent testing.

Building Schools for the Future PublicationThe Government’s publication, Standard Specifications, Layouts and Dimensions (SSLD) – Internal doorsets in schools: produced to guide the BSF programme specifies that there is a risk of fingers becoming trapped in doors in educational buildings. The publication states that this risk should be eradicated by the fitting of finger guards to all doors where feasible.
