What is Regulation 14?

Regulation 14 is part of The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and was introduced on the 1st January 1996.

Regulation 14 requires those responsible for Health and Safety to make sure that risk assessments of their establishment's glazing are carried out on a regular basis to make sure that glazing in 'critical locations' is safe.

Where glazing is considered to present a risk of injury to the building users or visitors then action needs to be taken to upgrade the glazing.


Compliance with Regulation 14

In order to ensure compliance with Regulation 14, you need to undertake a risk assessment of your glazing to ascertain whether or not there is a risk of injury.

What Can I Expect From an Independent Glazing Compliance Audit?

Within the glazing compliance audit,  your assessor will determine the type of glass and its current safety rating within critical locations.

Following the assessors appraisal of all the glazing within your establishment a comprehensive report will be provided with full clarification of the condition of the glazing throughout your establishment classification of any risks that exist, and recommendations of any glazing upgrades that may be required.
